Shane Filipek, who is also known as “The Punters Pal” approached me with some preliminary branding and a caricature to develop a website for his professional bookmaking business. Unlike other bookmakers, Shane is an on course bookmaker therefore only accepts bets at racecourses or offers a personalised service over the phone.
The main purpose of this project was to provide an alternative solution for his clients to create accounts online and to increase exposure to compete with other leading bookmakers.
I was responsible for the entire project, from the fine-tuning the branding, user interface design, through to HTML/CSS integration, development and production. One of the major features of the new site is the way The Punters Pal Facebook page has been integrated and customised so that the activity stream appears inside a speech cloud. The site also encompasses Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds from the Daily Telegraph website, cufon font replacement, jQuery rotational scripts to randomise the slogan, jQuery form validation and a date/time in the upper right hand corner.
