A new era in browsing and hiring premium digital camera equipment
VA Hire is Australia’s premier rental house for digital cameras, lenses, and accessories, offering state-of-the-art technology and 24/7 technical support.
In 2015, we were approached by Warren Day and his team to help rediscover the VA Hire brand and, in turn, rethink and recreate their digital footprint. In 2025, marking a decade since the original relaunch, we returned to elevate the experience once again – bringing a refined, modern, and sophisticated edge to the latest release.
Our approach
For this project to be successful, we needed to strengthen the integrity of the brand and ensure it was reflected consistently across every customer touchpoint.
The website, in particular, had significant room for improvement. While the original 2015 version laid a solid foundation, over time it became clear that the browsing experience could be simplified, key elements like production credits needed greater emphasis, and users required more efficient ways to discover products.
Working closely with the VA Hire team, we refined the strategic purpose of the site for the 2025 release. This update focused on simplifying the user interface, enhancing mobile usability, restructuring the site to improve product discovery, introducing filters, increasing element contrast, adding subtle interactions, modernising the design with a contemporary typeface and a vibrant colour palette, and emphasising production credits. The goal was not only to refresh the visual interface but to optimise the experience at every stage – from browsing and quoting to hiring and beyond.
Lights, camera, action!
From desktop through to mobile, every facet of this site has been designed to engage visitors through an informative user experience. Built on WordPress, the site provides a simplified yet immersive approach to obtaining a quotation for equipment hire.
Equipment can be discovered via the primary menu system or by using the predictive search feature. Each product page incorporates an innovative callback feature that caters to those less tech-savvy or time-poor customers.
